Highboards vs. Tall Cabinets
Highboards are lower and more ergonomic, while tall cabinets are taller and offer more volume.
Highboards are ideal when ergonomics and comfortable operation are the priority. At 151 to 158 cm high, they allow back-friendly operation of appliances.
Tall cabinets are suitable when you need especially large storage space. At 201 to 223 cm high, they use the full room height for maximum storage volume.
Tip: A combination of ergonomic highboards and spacious tall cabinets creates a harmonious overall look.

Pantry Cabinets

Highboards as pantry cabinets with widths of 30–60 cm are perfect for storing preserving jars, baking ingredients, and bowls. They are optionally available with shelves or sturdy nBOX pull-outs with a load capacity of up to 70 kg. The Cargo version has height-adjustable metal boxes which, thanks to a full-extension pull-out, bring all supplies conveniently and safely within reach. Soft-close technology ensures that drawers and doors close quietly and gently.
Tip: Use flexible divider systems to organize supplies by weight and frequency of use.
Pull-Out Larder Highboards

Pull-out larder highboards (30/40 cm) are compact and offer access from both sides. With a load capacity of 30–40 kg, bottles, spices, and other supplies can be stored neatly.
Tip: Place heavy bottles at the bottom and lighter supplies at the top to ensure order and stability.
Corner Highboards
Efficient use of space in 90° corners
Corner highboards make optimal use of valuable corners and are equipped with shelves or height-adjustable swivel trays.
Important: Note the installation dimension – it is larger than the carcass dimension and ensures that doors remain freely movable and adjacent cabinets are not blocked.

Laundry highboards (40–60 cm) bring structure to the utility area. Baskets, hook rails, and depot systems make organization easier.

Appliance Housing Unit for Oven, Microwave & Steam Cooker
Nobilia highboards as appliance housing units bring ovens, microwaves, and steam cookers ergonomically to hand height – with calm lines and extra storage space. Flap or compartment above, pull-out/drawer below for trays and accessories. Perfect for tidy kitchen planning, short distances, and a uniform front appearance.
Choose standard or XL height, 60 cm width, and niche heights of 37, 38, 45, and 59 cm. The niche dimensions are adapted exactly to the appliance dimensions.
Appliance Housing Units for Refrigerators
Nobilia highboards integrate built-in refrigerators flush and ergonomically. Choose a carcass height of 151.2 or 158.4 cm. The matching appliance niches of 88, 103, 123, or 145 cm are aligned exactly to the manufacturer’s appliance. This ensures ventilation, safety, and clean lines.
Many models offer an additional pull-out; you order the cover shelf separately. Depending on the appliance, you use fixed-door or sliding-door technology; optionally, a lift door adds convenient access.
More convenience when opening: drawers and nBOX pull-outs are available with mechanical opening support (push-to-open). In combination with soft-close, they close quietly and neatly – ideal for a calm, tidy front.
Appliance Housing Unit for Washing Machines & Dishwashers
Nobilia highboards as appliance housing units integrate washing machines and dishwashers in a space-saving and clean way – in the kitchen and utility room. Available in widths of 45 cm and 60 cm – ideal for single-person and family households. The models can be planned in standard and XL height and keep the lines with the surrounding cabinets calm. The niche heights are tailored precisely to the respective appliance model; the Nobilia grid system makes optimal use of storage space. At the top, a flap provides space for detergent; at the bottom, the nBOX pull-out creates order for tabs and accessories. Fully integrated dishwashers are neatly framed with side panels, a cover shelf, and a front panel. Combination models for oven and dishwasher combine both appliances - an additional drawer stores kitchen helpers.
Materials & Colors
Nobilia highboards are available in robust and elegant materials – from melamine to lacquer laminate in soft matte or high gloss to ultra-matte fronts with anti-fingerprint. Lacquer, laminate, glass look, and real wood frames are also available. Popular combinations include volcano grey + Vikings Oak for modern warmth, white high gloss + Havana oak for bright kitchens, and sand ultra-matte + concrete look for easy-care, matte designs.
Dimensions & Planning
Nobilia highboards are available in widths of 30–60 cm and depths of 46/56 cm, making them suitable for almost any kitchen plan. For appliance integration, niche dimensions apply: oven 37–59 cm, refrigerator 88–145 cm. Corner highboards require an installation dimension larger than the carcass dimension to ensure door clearance.

Difference between carcass dimension & planning/installation dimension
The carcass dimension is the fixed cabinet width, while the planning/installation dimension is the distance from the corner to the front edge. Because it takes wall clearances and door clearance into account, it is larger than the carcass dimension. When a corner highboard is pulled forward, the dead corner is created – an unusable area that is necessary for planning. Example HDE100-45: carcass dimension 100 cm, door width 45 cm, planning dimension 108–120 cm.
Organization & comfort
nBOX drawers with undermount runners carry up to 70 kg, run smoothly, and close gently with Soft-Close. Classic drawers hold 30–40 kg. Cargo pull-outs with sturdy metal boxes make access easier, including to supplies stored at the back. Additional inserts such as bottle dividers, anti-slip mats, and cutlery systems keep things organized and can be flexibly combined. Push-to-Open is optionally available for handleless design.
Quiet closing
All Nobilia highboards are equipped with Sensys hinges from Hettich. These feature integrated damping that allows doors to close gently and quietly. This protects the fronts, prevents loud slamming, and ensures everyday comfort. In the long term, the technology increases the service life of the hinges and makes the kitchen noticeably more pleasant to use.

They carry numerous certifications such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001 for quality, environment, and energy, the GS mark for tested safety, the RAL “Golden M” for furniture quality and health protection, the Blue Angel for environmentally friendly materials, and EcoVadis Bronze for sustainability.

Sustainability
Nobilia highboards are produced sustainably, using wood from certified forestry, recycling processes, and CO₂ reduction through in-house energy generation. The wood comes from PEFC-certified forestry, particle boards consist largely of recycled material, including old furniture. Plastic residues are reused for plinth feet, and packaging is 98% recyclable. Production residues are recycled or used for energy generation in the company’s own heating plants. Photovoltaic systems and heat recovery systems significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. Buyers benefit from durable furniture with a verifiably low ecological footprint.
Delivery times & collection
The standard delivery time for Nobilia highboards is approx. 4 weeks via freight forwarding. Individual parts such as handles or accessories are delivered within 3–5 working days by parcel service. The fast-track program nobilia elements is available from the factory within 24 hours, collection from depots takes place after 5–8 days, and pallet delivery takes 3–5 working days. Within the EU, delivery times are extended by a few days; outside the EU, additional time must be allowed for customs clearance.
