Nobilia cover panels are available in four thicknesses (10, 16, 25, and 50 mm) and in several versions: matt decor, high gloss, lacquer and lacquer laminate variants, Xtra decors, as well as special surfaces coordinated with front and worktop decors. This means every cover panel can be selected to match the Nobilia kitchen both visually and functionally.

Nobilia cover panels are available in four thicknesses (10, 16, 25, and 50 mm) and in several versions: matt decor, high gloss, lacquer and lacquer laminate variants, Xtra decors, as well as special surfaces coordinated with front and worktop decors. This means every cover panel can be selected to match the Nobilia kitchen both visually and functionally.

Nobilia cover panels are made from robust MDF core boards. These medium-density fiberboards are produced by bonding fine wood fibers with resin under high pressure and heat. This ensures high dimensional stability and smooth, even surfaces. MDF can be cut to size precisely on site without the cut edges tearing out or fraying. Depending on the range, the cover panels are finished with laminate, melamine, or lacquer. These surfaces are resistant to scratches, moisture, and the daily demands of the kitchen.

For maximum design freedom, Nobilia offers numerous decor finishes coordinated with front and worktop decors. The range includes, among others, the following groups and decors:

The decors in the Matt Decor (MA) series are among the most popular with Nobilia customers. They offer a timeless, calm look and impress with entry-level prices combined with high-quality workmanship.

Nobilia’s custom-made cover panels are precisely tailored to individual kitchen solutions.

They can be equipped ex works with a tongue-and-groove connection (AP-NF). We mill the corner joint for you and supply all required installation materials. We automatically take the extra measurement needed for the milling into account during production, so when measuring you do not have to allow for any additional overhang.

An exact cut to size is also possible in order to adapt every area with millimeter precision. The dimensions can be selected flexibly:

• Length: 25 cm – 258 cm

• Depth: 25 cm – 117 cm

A cover panel is generally a purely visual element for a clean design finish. It is used to cover the tops of kitchen cabinets. 

In kitchen planning, cover panels are used mainly for the following:

• On highboards and tall cabinets
  Cover panels are especially often used on highboards whose overall height is planned so that the top of the cabinet remains visible. A matching cover panel in worktop or front decor creates a high-quality finish, is abrasion-resistant, and is ideal for safely placing decoration, plants, or kitchen accessories on top.

• When planning modern wall cabinet solutions, a cover panel can be mounted as an elegant finish on the underside of the cabinets. Optionally, it can be fitted with integrated LED spotlights that provide even illumination of the work surface.

  In kitchens with flush carcass depth matching tall cabinets (56.1 cm), the wall cabinets align flush. The cover panel runs flush on the right and left with the cabinet width, allowing wall and tall cabinets to be planned seamlessly side by side – for clean lines and a modern, continuous overall look across the entire kitchen run.

• For refrigerator housings (side-by-side & more)
  In refrigerator housings for side-by-side appliances, the cover panel creates a clean transition between the refrigerator and the top cabinets. This visually integrates the freestanding, “American-style” refrigerator into the kitchen run so it looks like a fully planned built-in installation.

• Design flexibility
  Since the cover panels are available in carcass, front, and Xtra versions and can be cut to size, they are also suitable for creative solutions. They are often planned as a window sill, for custom shelving creations, for finishing appliance niches in worktop decor, or as an elegant, slim finish for sideboards and coffee counters.

  This turns a simple cover panel in the kitchen into a versatile design element that noticeably enhances both design and functionality.

So that cover panels not only look good but also function technically, Nobilia offers suitable accessories. For highboards with built-in electrical appliances, a ventilation grille made of gray plastic is available. It ensures reliable air circulation and protects appliances from heat buildup. The grille measures 57.4 × 5.1 × 1.45 cm (W × D × H), and the required cut-out in the cover panel is 56.8 × 4.4 cm. The ventilation grille can be used in cover panels with a 16 mm, 25 mm, or 50 mm thickness.

For clean adaptation to walls, structural elements, or sloped ceilings, various special modifications to the cover panel are possible:

• Bevels and rounded corners on cover panels with a 10, 16, and 25 mm thickness, e.g. for side end panels or freestanding solutions.

• Z-shaped bevels or cut-outs in 10, 16, and 25 mm thicknesses, in order to adapt cover panels precisely to projections, reveals, or varying depths.

This allows the cover panel to be matched not only visually but also technically exactly to your kitchen plan – from a ventilated highboard to a precision-fit solution in challenging room situations.
